Independent Films from Around the World

An Appalachian Summer Festival invites you to celebrate some of this year's greatest independent films from around the world. With the help of festival film advisor, Dr. John Pfeifer, each film was viewed and chosen with careful thought to bring a well-rounded film series to the festival. The film series strives to select films each year that are not readily available to most markets. A theme is chosen to create a comprehensive, educational and fun aspect to the films in hopes that attendees are given an experience they would not have received in any other place. Prior to each film, Dr. Pfeifer will host a discussion in the theatre and share behind-the-scenes information about the film.
