This year marks 25 years of music-making for the Grammy award-winning, multi-platinum selling, roots-music trio Nickel Creek. Composed of violinist Sara Watkins, guitarist Sean Watkins and mandolinist Chris Thile, Nickel Creek comes to life with a new album and U.S. tour for the first time since 2007. Their latest album, A Dotted Line, released in April of this year and is their fourth major album. Since it’s release, Nickel Creek has received endless praise from long-time fans and critics such as The Boston Globe who describe the commemorative reunion tour and album as “… old friends who fall right back into conversation…”
Known for producing hits such as “When You Come Back Down,” “The Lighthouse’s Tale,” “The Fox,” and off their most recent album, “Destination,” Nickel Creek has been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album, CMA Award for Best Vocal Group and won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album.
Formed in 1989 when Sean Watkins was 11 years old and Chris Thile and Sara Watkins were only 8 years old, Nickel Creek earned a loyal following as bluegrass child prodigies. The three performers grew into the acoustic band known for its breadth of musical influences – from Bach to Radiohead – and its surprisingly large sound on stage.

“A Dotted Line is a vibrant reminder of Nickel Creek’s youthful promise and proof that it has plenty left to say.” – The Boston Globe
